Turning 30!

As the clock strike midnight, my cell kept ringing, close friends and family near and far called to wish me the best on my birthday. I was touched and felt so blest with the love all around me.
Just then also sets in reality and as my thoughts began to  wander, suddenly there were some kind of anxiety and the voices inside my head kept saying” relax…age is just a “number” I never really cared about growing old. .Until the big 30 arrived.
I always thought, I will never grow old and nothing will slow me down. Truth is...it`s all lies.. Maybe I call it some kind of self consolation just to feel good! The fact that I have now left my twenties and running for the 30`s scares me to death…man how did I ever get here in the first place.
Here are my thought as I swallowed the actifast to get rid of fever and the body aches from the massive house cleaning, putting up Christmas decorations and  painting touch-ups…taking 5 minutes interval for every 20 minutes work!! I knew that I was slowing down; yes my body is failing due to aging. Nah…I don`t mean to be so dramatic, but the signs around me is quite evident... Not forgetting the grey hair, a show sign of wrinkles, hair fall and the list goes on.
As I browse through the magazines, internet especially YouTube…there are tons of tutorial for example how one can have “lips like an angel”, “the perfect lip tutorial”   “pout like Angelina Jolie”. “how to build muscle in weeks and look like”Rambo”, miracle hair spray for bald men, men`s guide to hair loss treatment etc..
Bottom line is...why we depend so much on outer beauty sometimes being slaves to fashion and beauty industry while neglecting our inner true beauty. I remember a friend of mine use to say almost like a broken record when she finds me without a lipstick on my lips... she says: A women must always look nice...or else man will look someplace else!  Okays what about the part where promises were made? Till death do us part, forever Love even when I am old, grey and ugly? Maybe it`s wise they say to always choose a spouse who is the same age as you or much older, because as beauty fades so will their eyesight! J
I guess there is a certain kind of pressure for people! Man and women these days strive to look good or appear younger than their age. Defining that with great looks come opportunity, advantages, and confidence one need to survive in this tough, cruel and challenging world!
So I guess that`s why Botox and plastic surgeries, liposuction were all invented! Basically it means to say that some people will go to all lengths with any cause, tremendous pain and all the money in the world just to look like stars...
Well speaking of pain...I guess I’m not such a favorite for the above after all! As I toss my henna aside and settled for all natural sandalwood powder for a face mask I went on downstairs to blow the candles on my birthday cake, wishing for all the finest things in life accepting reality as it is and to eventually learn to grow old gracefully...As for my facial mask it sure did freak everyone at home looking all yellow and musky...but I guess they have seen worst days! Melissa Gilbert- what`s your favourite quote?

I haven`t got the chance to read her book..but certainly watched the movie about 4 times now. And i`m still loving it babyyyyyyy!
Call me crazy maybe weird...but there was certainly something that kept me buying those tickets to go watch the movie over and over gain for 4 times in just 2 weeks. Anyone had beat my record?let me know please!

The story revolves a middle class women from New York who wanted to rediscover herself...and so she set on a journey. Just before the adventure, she got divorced (which he didn`t quite handle it very well),crashed into another relationship which was utterly disasterous and that`s when she decided to go on a soul searching journey.

Julia Roberts who played Mellissa Gilbert did a Fantastic Job, the very 90 minutes felt like a year(in a good way). I felt i was jouneying together with Julia to Italy where she ate, India..where we learned to be quiet ( that has been my challenge ever since i was 5)...and finally ended up in Indonesia where "she" found  love :)

Also with the movie came relization..that there is a Melissa Gilbert in very town.. city and in every country.
Brave enough to go against the odds..in searching for what fullfills one soul and to seek that true happiness and love again.

Well another reason why i am a fan of this movie is the inspirational quote that will just knock you off ur soul..this ones my favourite...

"A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master..."
So what`s yours? My advise go see the movie...if your married... go alone! :)! Hope you will enjoy it as much as i did..

Also watch out for the cute Ketut...in his words "See you later aligator" :)
